Cross Utilized Agents are a part of the SkyWest customer service team and are responsible to carry out the duties of ramp and ticket and gate agents. Those combined responsibilities include: checking in and ticketing passengers, escorting passengers to the aircraft, general customer assistance to passengers, marshaling aircraft, loading/unloading and sorting freight and baggage, servicing aircraft, and other duties as assigned. Our customer service agents work at airports across the country and represent SkyWest’s professional and positive image.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
  • Provide ticketing assistance, including issuing boarding passes and updating passenger reservations, check baggage, provide flight arrival and departure information, and answer general inquiries
  • Load and unload aircraft; transfer cargo (including luggage) to other gates, other airlines and to passengers
  • Assist unaccompanied minors and passengers with special needs, resolve customer complaints and perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of policies and processes pertaining to unaccompanied minors, law enforcement officers, hazmat, airfreight acceptance and other regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times
  • Monitor customer safety during boarding and deplaning, and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Marshal aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)
  • Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground service equipment, including the performance of equipment checks
  • Comply with all safety procedures and airline policies
  • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight and company material; continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting & transfer of baggage, freight and company material
  • Service aircraft as needed (e.g. aircraft lavatories, potable water, window wash, deicing and commissary items)
  • Assist in ramp set up and storage of equipment and baggage
  • Coordinate the weight and balance load planning of aircraft
  • Accept and process air cargo at the ticket counter, load cargo on the baggage carts and aircraft
  • Provide clear and accurate communication to passengers, agents, flight crews and vendors
  • Assist with airport station cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and manager
